Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the REIKYO mobile application (“App”) developed and published by Lumina28 Design (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, installing, or using REIKYO, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

REIKYO is an environmental sensor toolkit for iPhone that reads real hardware sensor data (magnetometer, microphone, barometer, camera/LiDAR) and applies statistical analysis and on-device machine learning to detect environmental anomalies. The App is designed for exploration and entertainment purposes.

2. Entertainment Disclaimer

REIKYO does not detect, communicate with, or prove the existence of ghosts, spirits, or any paranormal entities. The App measures physical environmental data using your iPhone’s built-in sensors. There is no scientific evidence that environmental anomalies indicate paranormal activity. Unusual sensor readings are more commonly caused by electronics, building materials, HVAC systems, geomagnetic variations, or other environmental factors.

REIKYO is not a scientific instrument, medical device, or safety tool. Do not rely on it for any purpose that requires certified measurement accuracy. Do not use REIKYO in any situation where inaccurate readings could pose a risk to health or safety.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use REIKYO. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

4. Subscriptions and Purchases

4.1 Free Tier

REIKYO offers a free tier that includes access to the magnetic field sensor, audio level meter, and a limited number of investigation sessions per month.

4.2 REIKYO Pro (Auto-Renewing Subscription)

• Subscription name: REIKYO Pro Monthly
• Price: $4.99 per month (USD)
• Introductory offer: $0.99 for the first week (where available)
• Billing cycle: Monthly, auto-renewing

Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the then-current subscription price.

Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

4.3 REIKYO Lifetime (One-Time Purchase)

• Product name: REIKYO Lifetime
• Price: $49.99 (USD, one-time)
• Duration: Permanent access to all Pro features for the lifetime of the App

The Lifetime purchase is a non-consumable in-app purchase. Once purchased, Pro features are unlocked permanently on all devices signed in to your Apple ID.

4.4 Managing and Canceling Subscriptions

You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your Account Settings in the App Store after purchase, or via:

1. Open Settings on your iPhone
2. Tap your Apple ID at the top
3. Tap Subscriptions
4. Select REIKYO Pro
5. Tap Cancel Subscription

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to Pro features until that date. No partial refunds are issued for unused portions of the current billing period.

4.5 Restoring Purchases

If you have previously purchased REIKYO Pro or Lifetime on another device, you can restore your purchases within the App via Settings > Legal > Restore Purchases, or from the upgrade screen. Restoration uses Apple’s StoreKit to verify your purchase history against your Apple ID.

4.6 Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted through Apple’s Report a Problem page. We do not process refunds directly. Apple’s refund policies apply.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use REIKYO to harass, frighten, or cause distress to others
• Trespass on private property under the pretense of “investigating”
• Present REIKYO readings as scientific evidence in any legal, academic, or professional context
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App
• Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the App or its content

6. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, trademarks, and trade dress of REIKYO are the property of Lumina28 Design. The name “REIKYO” and the REIKYO logo are trademarks of Lumina28 Design. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

7. Warranty Disclaimer

REIKYO IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Sensor readings depend on your device’s hardware capabilities and environmental conditions. We make no representations regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any sensor data displayed by the App.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LUMINA28 DESIGN SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE REIKYO.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lumina28 Design from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to REIKYO at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by posting updated Terms on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of REIKYO after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notice or update notes.

13. Apple Standard EULA

To the extent not covered by these Terms, your use of REIKYO is also subject to Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (EULA).

14. FTC Compliance (ROSCA / Negative Option Rule)

In compliance with the Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act (15 U.S.C. § 8401 et seq.) and the FTC’s amended Negative Option Rule (16 CFR Part 425):

• All material subscription terms (price, billing frequency, auto-renewal) are disclosed before purchase.
• Cancellation is available through the same platform used for purchase (Apple App Store > Subscriptions).
• No retention flows, save offers, or dark patterns are employed during cancellation.
• REIKYO does not misrepresent the nature of its service. It is an entertainment sensor tool, not a scientific instrument.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Lumina28 Design regarding your use of REIKYO.
